Instagram Is in the Process of Connecting Creators and Brands With their New Media Kit Option.

As of late, Instagram has taken a creator approach. The risk of losing creators, and ultimately users, to TikTok has ignited the need to put creators first. IG Creator Incentive Program was the first step towards this approach but isn't the last.

The goal of this kit is to help creators branch out by helping them better understand their market value and pitch their services to brands.

What Is Instagram Working On?

Instagram is currently developing a new kit option to aid creators to score other streams of revenue. This new kit is mainly concerned with helping creators showcase their value to brands to help them score those integrated sponsorships. The goal of this kit is to help creators branch out by helping them better understand their market value and pitch their services to brands.

How Can Creators Benefit From This Kit?

This kit will allow creators to write a bio. This bio is like an introduction to your brand image, audience, and influence. You can include snippets of your best-performing posts, especially those of past brand sponsorships. You have the option to include your engagement rates, follower count, and any other analytics or metrics that will showcase how your Instagram presence is apt to handle promotional content.

Creators will have the final say on how their brand will be showcased to potential sponsors. This new idea is still in the works of course but it can be life-changing for many creators, especially micro-influencers and nano-influencers. This will help smaller creators to diversify their income revenue streams and take content creation as a full-time job. This kit can replace a full-blown management team. And, with the help of social media management tools like Nuelink, smaller creators can run their business and platforms smoothly.

What About Other Platforms?

Although Instagram is one of the first platforms to take a creator approach, it is not the only one. Many platforms are now developing similar kits and programs to make sure their creators are satisfied with their platforms.

Instagram's parent company already has a similar program for Meta. It is called Meta’s Creator Marketplace platform. Understandably, the two features are similar but Instagram offers creators more liberties in terms of how they want to be presented to potential sponsors.

YouTube, not one to be left behind, is also working on a similar kit. Since this kit is still a work in progress, only a few creators have access to it. This will be part of Youtube BrandConnect, a service that allows creators and brands to work together on branded-content campaigns.

One thing is for certain with the current social media climate, creators are given priority.

Tiktok is left at a distavange here competing with established platforms. However, the app is also taking a similar approach by establishing Tiktok Creator Fund. Although this is a step in the right direction, $9 to $38 a day is not cutting it in a billion-dollar industry.

One thing is for certain with the current social media climate, creators are given priority. And, we do not blame social media companies since creator economy is now a multi-billion dollar industry. Back in the 2010s, people were posting content to entertain and be entertained, but now it is a get-rich-fast ticket.
